THE DEFINITION

What is Kumon Math Level C?

Kumon Math Level C (Multiplication) is the 8th of 21 levels in the Kumon math program, where children learn multiplication times tables to 9x9, vertical multiplication, and multiples. It typically aligns with grades 3-4 schoolwork, though Kumon places children by ability rather than age, so the grade is a guide, not a rule.

Level C builds directly on Math Level B: Vertical Addition & Subtraction and prepares children for Math Level D: Division. It is one of 21 Kumon math levels covered in this independent parent guide series.

This is an independent parent guide, not an official curriculum or placement assessment. Topics and pace can vary; your child’s instructor can confirm their current work.

  • Recite multiplication tables to 9x9
  • 2-digit x 1-digit vertical multiplication
